Steampunk fashion and accessories

While many alternative cultural movements have their origins in music groups, from rockabilly to cyber goths, punks and metalheads, steampunk is a trend associated with fantasy and anticipation literature. It's about imagining the world that would have evolved since the first industrial revolution, it's about coal and steam without knowing oil or electricity. Steampunk, literally steam punk. The works of Jules Verne from the 1950s onwards are probably the most representative of the anachronistic steampunk world.

The steampunk style of dress reached its peak in the 2010s with the interest of major fashion designers. The absence of oil means the absence of plastic, so steampunk materials are leather, copper and other alloys as well as wood. The general style of steampunk fashion is based on the Victorian era, classic chic, accessorised to the hilt. Women wear long corset or strapless velvet dresses, lace gloves or mittens, men wear buttoned waistcoats over puffy shirts with high collars, long frock coats and a bowler or top hat.

We create a steampunk outfit in the same spirit as a cosplay costume, it must be original and if possible unique, it is the reflection of our own personality. It is based on Victorian codes to which we add punk elements. As far as shoes are concerned, we find the style worn by goths: platform soles, boots with metal buckles or high-heeled ankle boots. Accessories are essential: jewellery, walking stick, goggles, pocket watch and, depending on the character, tools or work utensils such as gas masks, diverted and transformed.

L'Antre de Syria offers a wide range of steampunk clothing, shoes and accessories from the biggest brands on the market, such as Spin Doctor, Demonia or New Rock.
